Tipped, Tipping - This is used to define the contrasting colour at the tips of the hairs of some cats' coats.
Tom, Tomcat - A male un-neutered cat.

Tipped: A term referring to the colored ends of the hairs.
Tom: An unneutered, whole male cat.
Tonkinese Cat: A medium-sized, shorthair cat characterized by points as with the Siamese and Himalayans.

The darker colour, which is restricted only to the hair tips, is called Tipping (tipped). The remaining hair shaft is lighter coloured.
Smoke, Shaded and Shell have Tipping.

This cat color and pattern relates to the fact that the individual hairs are colored at the end, the tip.

Tipped British Shorthair -is a silver cat with a second colour appearing on the head, back, ears, and tail. The chest and belly are pale. Eyes are deep gold, orange or copper except in a black tipped cat, which has green eyes.

Coat tipped or shaded with darker or lighter colour.

CREAM TIPPED
COAT COLOUR:The undercoat should be pure white, the coat on back, flanks, head, ears and tail being lightly tipped with cream. This tipping should beevenly distributed, giving a sparkling appearance.

Shaded & Tipped: The "shaded" coat has the colour extending down approximately half to two thirds the hair, with a white/ivory ground colour.

Small, round-tipped, tilted forward, not unduly open at base; set far apart and low on head.
Large, round, and full; set level and far apart. Color deep vivid blue.
Short in proportion to body length.

The Korat's silver-tipped coat is steeped in legend because it signifies wealth to the tradesman and the merchant, rain clouds to the farmer and a happy marriage and home to the bride.

Since each hair is tipped with silver, causing a shining, halo effect all over the cat, this highly prized tipping is called "sea foam" by the Thais.

The coat on back, flanks, head and tail sufficiently tipped with jet black to give the characteristic sparkling silver appearance.

Shaded and Tipped American Wirehairs: Shaded Silver, Shaded Cameo, Chinchilla Silver, Shell Cameo. The Shaded and Tipped are similar to the Smokes, but a greater proportion of the length of each hair is the paler colour.

Most Pixie-Bobs have black fur and skin on the bottom of their paws, tipped ears, heavy ear hair, black lips, and white fur around the eyes but with black eye skin. Their chins have white fur, but often have black skin under the white fur.

These are Tipped, Shaded and Smoke. Tipped Burmillas have at least 3/4 of their fur in the underlying colour (Silver or Golden) and the remainder is a light dusting of "colour" over the top. In the case of Silvers, these cats appear almost white.

The coat may be either ‘tipped’ or ‘shaded’. Tipped means that only 1/8 of the hair tip is coloured, so the coat will actually look paler. A shaded coat is 1/4 coloured.

A deeper proportion of colour on the hair strand results in a shaded coat rather than the pale effect of a tipped (Chinchilla) pattern.

The Korat Cats are the color of silver-tipped blue. The hair at the roots is lighter then moves to deeper blue and then to silver at the tips. There should be no shading or tabby markings in order to be show quality.

The ears appear disproportionately large, wide at the base and round-tipped. The eyes are deep-set and slanted. The skin should have the texture of chamois and may be covered with a very short down.

Mainly white in color, referred to as silver, the colors appear as either shaded or tipped. Shaded cats have more color on the individual hair shafts than the tipped variety which have the color coming a short way down the shafts from the tips.

To remove an attached tick, use a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or special tick removal instruments. These special devices allow one to remove the tick without squeezing the tick body.

This group includes the Burmilla, which may be shaded or tipped, the Bombay, which is a black self shorthair and an Asian if it is any other colour.

The Burmilla's main attraction, however, is its soft, dense silver coat, which may be tipped or shaded in the following colors: black, blue, chocolate, lilac, red, caramel, apricot, cream, black tortie, blue tortie, chocolate tortie, ...

These colours are golden, black, and silver-tipped melanistic. Chausie kittens commonly have stripes or spots in their coat when young. As the kitten matures, the markings on their body should fade leaving a stunning, wild ticked coat.

The Chausie is currently accepted in black, brown ticked tabby, and silver tipped colors. Ear tufts are highly desirable. They should be long and lean, not cobby or thick-bodied, with boning sufficient to carry the cat without making them seem chunky.

The Shaded Persian is covered with a flowing double coat. It has light hairs "tipped" with black creating a shaded look. Colors include: chinchilla, shaded silver, chinchilla golden, shaded golden.

Blue - A warm soft blue-gray ticked with deeper blue. Base color is pale cream. Tail tipped with a deep shade of blue, paw pads are blue-grey, nose leather is dark pink, eyes are pure amber, green or gold.

The only color variety for the Korat is blue. Each hair is tipped with silver giving the coat a silvery blue appearance.

The Korat is a smallish, muscular cat with a heart-shaped head, a broad forehead and large, round-tipped, widely-set ears. Females are noticeably more dainty than are males.

The fur is tipped with silver, giving a silvery sheen or 'halo effect' to the coat. The Korat goes through an 'ugly duckling' phase and doesn't attain its true beauty until two to four years of age.

They are recognized in the three colors of the Jungle Cat; Brown ticked tabby, Grizzled, (Silver-tipped black), and solid Black. Markings are seen only on the ticked cats. They include black leg barring and tail rings.

One of the original four kittens, Astahazy Gemma, went to Therese Clarke, with the object of breeding pure shaded and tipped silver shorthairs, hence becoming a foundation queen for the establishment of the new breed, the Burmilla.

Strikingly large, round tipped ears equal to length of the head are one of the main features of the Serengeti as are its bright, round eyes. They should have a gentle, confident, outgoing and alert temperament.

The Persian Cat is medium to large in size, weighing approximately 8-15 pounds. The legs and tail are short. The head is round and broad. The nose is short, the eyes are large and round, and the ears are small, wide-set, and round-tipped.

The cat shakes its head often and may scratch the outside of the ears and neck persistently. A few drops of any mild oil massaged into the ear canal suffocates the mites and loosens the dirt, which may then be removed with cotton-tipped sticks.
