The back is naturally arched and the underline gently curves upward forming a slight tuck up. The hips are round and somewhat heavy in proportion to rest of body.

The Cornish Rex is a curly coated, fine-boned cat that stands high on its legs. It has a distinctive arched back, deep rib cage and "tuck up" resembling a greyhound. The Cornish Rex has a hard muscular body that is warm to the touch.

Rib cage is rounded; back is slightly arched giving the appearance of a cat about to spring; flank level with no tuck up. Conformation strikes a medium between the extremes of cobby and svelte lengthy types.
