Vestibular Apparatus
Vestibular Apparatus - an organ in the cat's inner ear which enables it to maneuver so that if the cat falls it will land on its feet
Cat Fancy ...

Vestibular Apparatus: An organ located in the cat's inner ear which allows cats to land on their feet if they fall.
Veterinarian: One skilled in the diseases of cattle or domestic animals; a veterinary surgeon.

Vestibular disease is an illness that affects a group of small organs called the vestibular apparatus. The vestibular apparatus is located in the brain and inner ear.

Cats also use vision and/or their vestibular apparatus to help tell which way to turn. They then can stretch themselves out and relax their muscles. Cats do not always land unharmed. They can break bones and die from excessive falls.
