Looking back, I wish I had moved to phase 2 or 3 of the adkins diet. This is why. As many of the comments reflect, there has been significant weight loss, but many have gained back.
In 2007, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published the results of a Stanford University study comparing the Adkins diet with the Zone, LEARN, and Ornish diets.
They are based on the idea that our bodies do not know how to properly burn all the carbohydrate-rich food we consume. The Zone and Adkins diets are based on low carbohydrate intake.
