Biotin is a water-soluble member of the B-complex group of vitamins and is commonly referred to as vitamin H.

Biotin is necessary for the formation of fatty acids and glucose, which are used as fuels by the body. Biotin also helps to break down amino acids and carbohydrates in the body.

Vitamin H, otherwise known as biotin, is essential to normal growth and development and overall health. Bacteria in the intestines produce enough biotin for the body so that most people would not need an additional supplement of vitamin H.
