Elimination Diets
Elimination or allergy diets are used to isolate food allergies or food sensitivity.

Elimination diets are diets in which people stop eating specific foods for a period and then challenge their body by adding the food back into their diet and evaluating how the body responds.

Elimination Diets May Help Alleviate Crohn's Disease
Evidence is mounting that food intolerance is an important factor in Crohn's disease.

Elimination diets are useful to assist in the diagnosis of food allergy and pharmacological food intolerance. Metabolic, toxic and psychological reactions can be diagnosed by other means.[2][11][12]

Some experts advocate various elimination diets to identify and avoid certain foods which may aggravate an individual's fibromyalgic condition.

Symptom history and elimination diets are tools that are used, and the double-blind, placebo-controlled food challenge may also be helpful.

Elimination diets are for short-term use only as they are nutritionally unbalanced. They should be supervised by a dietitian who has experience in this field.
