We developed equations for age-adjusted sex-specific BMI autocorrelation using 5209 subjects 28 years of age and older at baseline from the Framingham Heart Study.

 


Vasan's study included more than 3,700 white men and women who were enrolled in the Framingham Heart Study.
Participants had their BMI measured at least twice, four years apart, during the 30-year study.

High levels of triglycerides may be as artery clogging as high cholesterol. The Framingham Heart Study found that high triglyceride levels are related to higher risk of heart attack in women, not men, although experts aren't sure why.

The literature finds very small differences in heart disease rates and other diseases from one blood type to another. The Framingham Heart Study found no significant difference between the incidence of heart disease and blood type.

In fact, the landmark Framingham Heart Study which monitored 5,000 people for 25 years found that the best results from exercise occurred when people just started moving. Just remember, any exercise is good for you.

For persons free of those conditions, their needs are based upon their personal risk of having a heart attack in the next 10-years based upon the Framingham Heart Study.
