Unsalted or Lightly Salted Nuts
With three times the protein and fiber as potato chips but none of the sodium, nuts are pantry favorites of Neva Cochran, MS, RD, a nutrition consultant in Dallas.

Unsalted foods can be made tastier if skillful use of herbs and spices is practiced. Here are some suggestions:
Try the Following Seasonings:
Allspice - soups, juices, fruits, spinach, peas, red and yellow vegetables, meat and fish.

One who has been accustomed to adding salt to his food finds unsalted food dull, flat, insipid and tasteless until his sense of taste has regained its normal tone. Robinson Crusoe had no salt and, at first, he found food unappetizing.

Purchase unsalted butter. Avoid pickles, olives, and salty chips and pretzels. Snack on air-popped popcorn seasoned with a shake-on herbal blend. Eat unsalted nuts and unsalted crackers or pretzels.

One tablespoon of extra-creamy unsalted stick butter has about 110 calories, 12 grams of total fat, and 8 grams of saturated fat.

Select unsalted nuts or seeds, dried beans, peas and lentils.
Avoid adding salt and canned vegetables to homemade dishes.
Select unsalted, fat-free broths, bouillons or soups.

Besides training, sportspeople follow a special diet - a diet based on unsalted food - and only drink distilled water. Why is that? Because it has to salts that retain water in the organism.

Fruit and unsalted mixed nuts.
Cream cheese on oatcakes and grapes.
Smoothie made of milk and red berries.
Unsweetened nut butter (almond is popular with children) on toast.
Sliced carrots and celery with avocado dip.

Teething foods, such as toasts, rusks, unsalted crackers, bagels, pieces of cooked vegetables (carrot, broccoli, squash), soft fruits (melon, peach, pear), and biscuits may be given when the child is 7 -8 months old.

It is for those times that you could have low-carb stuff such as unsalted peanuts, dried fruits, seeds, etc. to satiate your hunger.

Include canola and flaxseed oil, unsalted nuts, like walnuts, brazil nuts and almonds, and seeds like sunflower, linseeds and pumpkin seeds.
