Disease ADHDAdhesive Capsulitis

Adhesions
An adhesion is a band of scar tissue that joins two internal body surfaces that are not normally connected. Organs or tissues within the body stick (adhere) to other internal surfaces.

Adhesions are fibrous bands that form between tissues and organs, often as a result of injury during surgery. They may be thought of as internal scar tissue.

Adhesions Overview
An adhesion is a band of scar tissue that binds 2 parts of your tissue together. They should remain separate. Adhesions may appear as thin sheets of tissue similar to plastic wrap or as thick fibrous bands.

Adhesions form when two moist, opposing surfaces inside the nose heal together, causing a scar. They often form between the septum, which separates the nostrils, and one of the wavy structures inside the nose (inferior turbinate).

Adhesions usually do not cause any problems, but they can cause intestinal blockage. The intestines may become blocked when a band of tissue presses on the bowel or pulls a loop of bowel out of place.

Adhesions are fairly rare in patients who have never had abdominal surgery. In people who have had multiple abdominal surgeries, adhesions are common.
Symptoms ...

Adhesions form when inflammation occurs on the surface of the abdominal organs or the peritoneal lining of the abdominal cavity; the formation of scar tissue is a normal part of healing when there is inflammation.

Abdominal adhesions are bands of tissue that form between abdominal tissues and organs, causing tissues and organs to stick together.

Pelvic adhesions. Pelvic adhesions are bands of scar tissue that bind organs after pelvic infection, appendicitis, or abdominal or pelvic surgery. They may limit the functioning of the ovaries and fallopian tubes and impair fertility.
