What is anaphylaxis?
Anaphylaxis, also called anaphylactic shock, is a severe and sometimes life-threatening reaction to an allergen (the items that your child is allergic to are called allergens).

What is Anaphylaxis?
Anaphylaxis is a sudden, severe allergic reaction to a substance (called an allergen) that can be life-threatening.

Anaphylaxis (say "anna-full-ax-iss") is a life-threatening allergic reaction. It starts soon after you are exposed to something you are severely allergic to. You may have swelling, itching or a rash.
