The blood differential test measures the percentage of each type of white blood cell (WBC) that you have in your blood. It also reveals if there are any abnormal or immature cells.

How the test is performed:
Blood is drawn from a vein, usually from the inside of the elbow or the back of the hand.

Manual blood differential (looking under a microscope) shows small and immature lymphocytes.
Low gamma globulin levels (lower antibody level) may occur.
Bone marrow biopsy shows infiltration with small lymphocytes.
