Brachydactyly (Greek βραχύς = "short" plus δάκ"υ"ος = "finger") is a medical term which literally means "shortness of the fingers and toes" (digits).

The fingers show webbing and shortening (symbrachydactyly) on the hand on the same side. The child with Poland syndrome is usually entirely normal except for the problems already noted.
