Breast cyst drainage is a procedure in which your healthcare provider drains a cyst in your breast.

Causes
The glandular tissue of the breasts cycles monthly with menstrual periods, enlarging to prepare for a pregnancy, and then diminishing if one does not occur. This cycling causes cysts and excess fibrous tissue to build up.

A cyst is a fluid-filled lump. Cysts are more common in women approaching menopause although they can occur at any age. They are usually oval or round lumps that are smooth and firm. They tend to move slightly when pressed.

Breast cysts: Breast cysts (fluid filled sacs) occur most often in women ages 35-50. Breast cysts often enlarge and become tender and painful just before the menstrual period and are usually found in both breasts.

SYMPTOMS"Discomfort, soreness, tenderness, lumpiness, and possible felt lumps and cysts in the breast. These will be round lumps which move freely and are either firm or soft.
