Castleman Disease
Castleman disease (CD) is a disease of lymph nodes and related tissues. CD is also known as giant lymph node hyperplasia and angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia.

 


Castleman disease can occur in a localized or a more widespread form. Treatment and outlook depend on which type of Castleman disease you have.

Castleman disease: A disorder of lymphoid tissue (lymphadenopathy) with massive overgrowth (hyperplasia) of lymph nodes ("swollen glands"), most commonly affecting the nodes between the lungs (in the mediastinum).
