A hemangioma is an abnormal buildup of blood vessels in the skin or internal organs.

Cavernous hemangioma - a raised, red or purple mark in the skin, made up of enlarged blood vessels.
Cellulitis - a bacterial infection of the skin that is characterized by swelling and tenderness.

Cavernous hemangioma: A type of hemangioma composed of blood-filled "lakes" and channels. It is typically raised and red or purplish.

Cavernous hemangiomas that involve the eyelid and block vision are generally treated with steroid injections or laser treatments. These quickly reduce the size of the lesions, allowing vision to develop normally.

Cavernous hemangiomas may appear as a red-blue spongy mass of tissue filled with blood.
Port-wine stains are most often located on the face. The size varies from very small to over half of the body surface.

Cavernous hemangiomas (angioma cavernosum, cavernoma) are similar to strawberry hemangiomas but they are deeper.
Salmon patches (stork bites) are extremely common, appearing on 30-50% of newborns.
