Tumor of the tissue surrounding musculature, usually in the abdomen. Rarely metastasizes.

Desmoid tumors

desmoid: Relatively large mass of unusually firm scar-like connective tissue.
diabetes: A medical disorder of increased blood sugar levels that can cause bladder and kidney problems.

Desmoid tumor
A benign (non-cancerous) tumor that often occurs in the abdomen. This type of tumor begins in the tissue called connective tissue that connects muscle fibers to each other and to the surrounding structures.
