What is a dislocated knee?
A dislocated knee has bones that are displaced. When they are displaced they do not fit together correctly. This can happen when ligaments in the knee are torn.

A dislocated kneecap most often occurs in women. It is usually a result of sudden direction changes while running. This puts the knee under stress.

The symptoms of a dislocated knee may resemble other conditions or medical problems. Always consult your child's doctor for a diagnosis.
