There should not be any dysmetria or dyssynergia. Non-verbal cues may be given to the patient. If a patient has dysmetria or dyssynergia in one limb, the score should be 1.

The signs and symptoms of cerebellar deficiency: dysmetria, dysarthria, asynergia, nystagmus, ataxia, staggering gait, and adiadochokinesia.

Neurologic findings are variably present and may indicate neurologic dysfunction in vertebrobasilar arterial distribution (e.g., dysmetria, dysarthria, facial palsy, ataxia).

Calibration test - involves following a light about 6 to 10 feet away with your eyes. This test measures ocular dysmetria (a condition in which movements of the pupil of the eye overshoot their target).
