What is EE?
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) is a disease that causes swelling in the esophagus (the swallowing tube). The swelling is caused by high numbers of eosinophils found in the esophagus.
In eosinophilic esophagitis, a type of white blood cell (eosinophil) builds up in the tube that connects your mouth to your stomach (esophagus) as a reaction to foods, allergens or acid reflux.
