Germ cells tumors are malignant (cancerous) or non-malignant (benign, non-cancerous) tumors that are composed primarily of germ cells.

Germ cell: The eggs and sperm are the germ cells: the reproductive cells. Each mature germ cell is haploid in that it has a single set of 23 chromosomes containing half the usual amount of DNA and half the usual number of genes.

Germ cell tumors develop from primordial germ cells, which migrate during embryogenesis from the yolk sac through the mesentery to the gonads.[6] Childhood extracranial germ cell tumors most commonly arise in midline extragonadal sites (i.e.

Germ cell tumors of the ovary, uncommon but aggressive tumors seen most often in young women or adolescent girls, are frequently unilateral, and are generally curable if found and treated early.

Germ cell tumors develop from primitive cells that normally mature into ova (eggs) in the ovaries of women and sperm in the testicles of men. Ninety percent of all germ cell tumors develop in the ovaries and testes. These are called gonadal tumors.

Wheat germ has been found to be very beneficial in order to keep the body in tip top condition. It is used by athletes in their diet to improve cardiovascular function and improve endurance levels.

Once a germ cell tumour is diagnosed, tests are carried out in order to establish whether or not the germ cell tumour is benign or malignant.

It occurs most often in white men. There are two major types of testicular cancer. They are seminoma, which is the most common, and nonseminoma germ cell tumors. Usually testicular cancer occurs only in one testicle.

Germ cells are special cells in a developing embryo (fetus) that become the testicles in boys and the ovaries in girls. Rarely, during development of the embryo, these cells travel to other areas of the body and become cancerous.

Germ cell cancers account for 95 percent of all testicular cancers. These cancers can be subdivided into two additional cell types. All of this is important in planning the best treatment.

Germ cell tumors: Tumors that arise from germ cells (cells that produce the egg) account for about 15% of all ovarian cancers. These tumors develop most often in young women (including teenaged girls).

Germ layer
In embryology, the germ layer is a layer of cells that can be distinguished during the development of a fertilised egg. Most animals have three such layers: the inner, middle, and outer. These differentiate to form the various body tissues.

A germ called bacteria usually causes mastitis. Bacteria enter the body through a break or crack in the skin of your breast or nipple. A plugged milk tube or not emptying the breasts of milk completely may also cause mastitis.

A germ-killing solution is used to clean off the area and a sterile sheet is draped over the surrounding area. In infants and small children, a local numbing cream is applied to the skin about 1 hour prior to the procedure.

One of the most remarkable practical outcomes of germ-pathology, however, has been the production of the immunized sera now employed so extensively in the treatment of diphtheria and other contagious diseases.

Germ mutation. Even when antibiotics are used appropriately, they contribute to the rise of drug-resistant bacteria because they don't destroy every germ they target.

Any disease caused by the entrance, growth, and multiplication of bacteria or protozoans in the body; a germ disease. Examples are Lyme Disease, Meningitis, and many others. An infectious disease may not be contagious.

Someone with an infection that is resistant to a certain medication can pass that resistant infection to another person.

When an alteration or mutation in a gene is present in the eggs and sperm, also called germ cells, it is referred to as a "germline mutation." When a germline mutation is inherited it is present in all body cells.
