Haemoptysis
Heamoptysis is simply the medical word for coughing up blood from the lungs and can come as flecks, streaks and many other forms. It has many different causes but should always be investigated by a doctor.

Lungs - you may notice shortness of breath (particularly on exertion), cough, wheezing, chest pain or, rarely, you may cough up blood (haemoptysis).

Although there are various types of autoimmune disease some of the potential signs and symptoms that you should look out for include, fever, coughing, haemoptysis, wheezing, diarrhoea, joint pain and rashes.

It's not unusual to notice some streaks of blood in your phlegm if you have secondary lung cancer.

Dyspnoea and haemoptysis occasionally occur, but are by no means the rule. If pyrexia is present, it is a serious symptom, as it is a sign of septic absorption in the bronchi, and may be the forerunner of gangrene.
