Disease HemoglobinopathyHemolytic anemia

Hemoglobinuria: The presence of free hemoglobin in the urine, an abnormal finding, that may make the urine look dark.

What if I still have specific questions about paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria?

Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria only occurs in the cold, and affects mainly the hands and feet. Antibodies attach (bind) to red blood cells and to proteins in the blood (called complements).

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria
About one-third of people with aplastic anemia have a condition called paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). This is a disorder of the red blood cells.

Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria
Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (HE-mo-GLO-bih-NYU-re-ah), or PNH, is a disorder in which the red blood cells are faulty due to a lack of certain proteins.
