What is Hodgkin Lymphoma?
Hodgkin Lymphoma is a form of cancer affecting white blood cells. Cells called ‘Reed-Sternberg’ cells are the hallmark of this disease. These cells are cancerous white blood cells.

The non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHLs) are a diverse group of blood cancers that include any kind of lymphoma except Hodgkin's lymphomas.[1] Types of NHL vary significantly in their severity, from indolent to very aggressive.

Hodgkin lymphoma, or Hodgkin disease, is named for Thomas Hodgkin, M.D., who determined it to be a new disease in 1832. All other types of lymphoma are of the non-Hodgkin type.

Non-Hodgkin lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of disorders involving malignant monoclonal proliferation of lymphoid cells in lymphoreticular sites, including lymph nodes, bone marrow, the spleen, the liver, and the GI tract.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer in the lymphatic system. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be 65, 980 new cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2009. NHL is the third most common cancer in childhood.
