IMPETIGO (Impetigo Contagiosa; Echthyma)
SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES"Impetigo is not something to ignore. Neglected, it can produce boils, ulcers, or other skin complications.

The three types of impetigo are called impetigo contagiosa, bullous impetigo and ecthyma.

A contagious, superficial skin infection, impetigo (impetigo contagiosa) occurs in nonbullous and bullous forms. This vesiculopustular eruptive disorder spreads most easily among infants, young children, and elderly people.
