Inflammatory joint diseases

Arthritis means that there is pain in the joint, and most diseases of the joint cause either pain or limitation of motion, so we use the term arthritis to cover all of them.

. Joint immobilization with a splint or sling can sometimes relieve pain. Heat therapy may relieve muscle spasm around joints. Cold therapy may be analgesic in inflammatory joint diseases.

Arthroscopy may be used to remove loose bodies from your knee joint, repair torn or damaged cartilage, reconstruct torn ligaments and occasionally correct damage from degenerative joint diseases such as arthritis.
