What is lichen sclerosus?
Lichen sclerosus (say: 'like-en skler-oh-sus') is a skin condition that can cause itching, a rash and scarring.
Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a skin disorder that causes the skin to become thin, whitened, wrinkled, and can cause itching and pain. LS usually occurs in postmenopausal women, although men, children, and premenopausal women may be affected.
Lichen sclerosus appears in:
Women (often after menopause)
Men (uncommon)
Children (rare).
