Light sensitivity — Between 60 and 100 percent of people with lupus are sensitive to ultraviolet light. This "photosensitivity" causes the person to develop a rash after exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun or fluorescent lights.

These symptoms may come on suddenly, and you may not experience any pain. The symptoms described above may not necessarily mean that you have uveitis.

Eye inflammation can result in pain, blurry vision, light sensitivity, tearing, or redness of the eye. Behçet's may even lead to vision loss. Severe eye disease that can cause blindness is more common in the Middle East and Japan than in the US.

Speech disturbances, light sensitivity (photophobia), lethargy, convulsions, or a coma may develop quickly. Personality changes may be present. If the central nervous system is affected in individuals with EEE, seizures and coma may occur.

Epithelial basment membrane disease leads to eye irritation, tearing, and some degree of light sensitivity. Vision can be affected as well but usually only to a minor degree.

You may experience light sensitivity, redness, pain, floaters and blurry vision. Uveitis can cause permanent vision loss if not detected and treated early. This condition can recur.

Patients might suspect this infection if they feel excessive pain, note redness around the eye, have vision loss, or light sensitivity.

The first sign a sufferer may notice is eye irritation and discomfort, light sensitivity and increased blinking. They may find that the condition worsens when they are tired, under stress or reading.

It causes mild burning and irritation, foreign body sensation, increased tear production and light sensitivity. It may also cause mild vision loss in some cases. The condition is characterised by active and latent phases.

When the condition is serious--indicated by discharge of fluid from the eye or light sensitivity--you should see a doctor within a day, Sutphin says.

Children with tension headaches typically do not experience nausea, vomiting, or light sensitivity.
