Treating Lung Inflammation. While inflammation of the lung (pneumonitis) resembles pneumonia, it is not an infection but is a result of the autoimmune process.

 


Pneumonia (lung inflammation) may also cause shortness of breath and a cough. It is usually caused by an infection, so you will need to take antibiotics.

Pneumonitis (lung inflammation) can occur from non-infectious causes. Chemical pneumonitis results from inhalation of substances that produce lung inflammation but no infection.

Pneumonia - a type of lung inflammation that causes about 60 per cent of measles deaths.
