Malignant fibrous histiocytoma Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a sarcoma that usually begins in soft tissue. It usually appears as an enlarging, painful mass that can cause fracture due to destruction of the bone by a spreading tumor.

Malignant fibrous histiocytomas (MFH)
These are cancers that start in fibrous tissue cells called histiocytes. MFH is one type of a group of tumours called spindle cell sarcomas.
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNST) ...

malignant fibrous histiocytoma A soft tissue sarcoma that usually occurs in the limbs, most commonly the legs, and may also occur in the abdomen. Also called malignant fibrous cytoma.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma
At one time, MFH was the single most common histiotype among adults with soft tissue sarcomas.

malignant fibrous histiocytoma: A sarcoma that usually begins in soft tissue. It usually appears as an enlarging, painful mass that can cause fracture due to destruction of the bone by a spreading tumor.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH). This is also called undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma or spindle cell sarcoma. (See the PDQ summary on Osteosarcoma and Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma of Bone Treatment for more information on MFH of bone.) ...

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma - This sarcoma starts in either a type of primitive immune cells called histiocytes or in cells that make fibrous (connecting) tissue. It usually appears as an area of bone destruction on X-rays.

Fibrosarcoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma-cancers that develop in soft tissues (eg, tendons, ligaments, fat, muscle) and move to the bones of the legs, arms, and jaw ...

There are many types of soft tissue sarcoma, including: alveolar soft part sarcoma, angiosarcoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, desmoid sarcoma, fibrosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, liposarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, lymphoma (lymphosarcoma), ...

Other rare types of primary bone tumour include fibrosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, angiosarcoma and chordoma.
What causes primary bone cancer?

Incidences of this cancer appear in adults between the ages of 30 and 40. Malignant fibrous histiocytomas (MFH) occur in the fibrous tissues of the legs of older people.

The most common forms of bone cancer are osteosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, chondrosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, fibrosarcoma, and chordoma. Pain is the most common symptom.

Other types include undifferentiated sarcoma (25%), malignant fibrous histiocytoma (11 to 24%), leiomyosarcoma (8 to 9%), fibrosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, liposarcoma, and osteosarcoma; these types are more likely to originate in the left atrium, ...

Ewing's Sarcoma includes tumors that form in the bone's cavity typically in longer bones such as those found in the arms and legs. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma or MFH typically occurs in the softer tissues of the bones such as the tendons, muscles, ...

It can affect any bone but the arms, legs and pelvis are more commonly affected. Other less common forms of primary bone cancer include Ewing sarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma and chondrosarcoma.
