What is Mucormycosis?
Mucormycosis is a fungal infection of the sinuses, brain, or lungs and on rare occasions the skin and digestive system, that occurs primarily in people with immune disorders.

Mucormycosis is an infection caused by a fungus. It affects the sinuses, brain, lungs, and sometimes the skin. The infection occurs most often in people who have a compromised immune system. This is a serious infection.

Mucormycosis is caused by common fungi frequently found in the soil and in decaying vegetation. Most individuals are exposed to these fungi on a daily basis -- but people with immune disorders may be more susceptible to infection.

Mucormycosis is the term to refer to infection caused by diverse fungal species, including Rhizopus, Rhizomucor, Absidia, and Mucor.

Mucormycosis (zygomycosis) is a serious, potentially deadly fungal infection that's infrequently diagnosed.

Mucormycosis (Zygomycosis)
Mucormycosis (also called zygomycosis) is a rare infection caused by organisms that belong to a group of fungi called Mucoromycotina in the order Mucorales.
