Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) is a debilitating disease that effects a huge amount of people across the world. Although it is a very common disease, it has only recently been recognized as a serious medical condition.

Until the late 1980s, myalgic encephalomyelitis was thought to be a distinct, infectious disorder affecting the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems and the muscles.

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) and post-viral fatigue syndrome. There is some difference of opinion over whether ME is different from CFS; however, most authorities refer to the condition as CFS/ME.

We don’t know why people get chronic fatigue syndrome (myalgic encephalomyelitis) (CFS/ME), but it happens every day.
One of the problems reported by many CFS/ME sufferers is the lack of specific guidance on how to tackle the condition.
