To combat nocturnal leg cramps, there are several criteria to check. Make sure that your intake of calcium, potassium, and magnesium are at sufficient levels.

Nocturnal leg cramps are sudden, involuntary contractions of the calf muscles that occur during the night or while at rest. The cramps can affect persons in any age group, but they tend to occur in middle-aged and older populations.

Cramps that awaken people during sleep are very common. They can be very painful and may cause a person jump out of bed in the middle of the night. They typically affect a specific area of the calf or the sole of the foot.
