Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease (LCPD) is one of a group of disorders known as the Osteochondroses.

Legg-Calve-Perthes disease is a temporary condition in children in which the ball-shaped head of the thigh bone (femur), also known as the femoral head, loses its blood supply. Hence, the femoral head collapses.

Legg-Calve-Perthes disease is when the ball of the thighbone in the hip doesn't get enough blood, causing the bone to die.
