Pineocytoma

Disease PinealomaPink eye

Pineocytoma, also known as a pinealocytoma, is a benign, slowly-growing tumor of the pineal gland. Unlike the similar condition pineal gland cyst, it is uncommon.
Diagnosis
Pineocytomas are diagnosed from tissue, i.e. a brain biopsy.

Pineocytoma (PIN-ee-o-sye-TOE-ma): A slow growing type of brain tumor that occurs in or around the pineal gland, a tiny organ near the center of the brain.

Pineocytomas (grade II): A pineocytoma is a slow-growing pineal tumor that occurs most often in adults.

Pineocytoma
Affects young adults. 5 year survival 88%. If needs are identified 1 year time limited awards are recommended. Recovery is expected in the typical case.
Pineoblastoma ...

PINEOCYTOMA (WHO grade II) is a slow-growing pineal parenchymal neoplasm that primarily occurs in young adults.[40] Pineocytomas account for fewer than 1% of all brain tumors and comprise approximately 45% of all pineal parenchymal tumors.

Pineal Cysts

Tumors In Children: There are a few specific types of tumors which affect children.

Pineal-region tumors originate in the area near the pineal gland, a small central brain gland that secretes melatonin, a brain chemical. These can be either fast-growing pineoblastoma, or slow-growing pineocytoma.
