Pituitary dwarfism
A child who is destined to become a dwarf, has growth hormone deficiency. There are 2 types of dwarfs. The pituitary dwarf has too little growth hormone.

This is a key point. Treatment is with human growth hormone given in childhood. Also known as hypopituitary dwarfism, hypopituitarism, panhypopituitarism, and growth hormone deficiency.

Pituitary dwarfism is caused by an insufficiency of the pituitary growth hormone (hypopituitary dwarfism). Typically, the pituitary dwarf stops growing in early childhood but retains normal body proportion, mental capacity, and sexual development.
