Low serum osmolality with hyposmolar urine suggests primary polydipsia.
With either ADH deficiency or resistance,urine specific gravity rarely exceeds 1.005 and urinary osmolalityrarely exceeds 200 mOsm/kg.

Primary polydipsia. In this condition, your thirst increases significantly, causing increased fluid intake.
Certain medications.

In the absence of diabetes mellitus, the most common causes of chronic polyuria are primary polydipsia, central diabetes insipidus, and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.
Hypernatremia usually indicates central or nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.
