B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia
Overview
B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, also referred to as B-PLL, is a rare type of chronic lymphocytic leukemia that affects the prolymphocytes (B-cells) of the adaptive immune system.
Prolymphocytic Leukemia: A type of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in which the malignant T-cells have a more immature appearance. The disease is usually more rapidly progressive than classical Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
prolymphocytic leukemia PLL. A type of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), in which too many immature white blood cells (prolymphocytes) are found in the blood and bone marrow. PLL usually progresses more rapidly than classic CLL. Also called PLL.
T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL). T-PLL is an aggressive subtype of CLL that has only been defined recently. It occurs more often in older men, but women may also be affected.

Prolymphocytic leukemia (PLL) is a rare entity characterized by excessive prolymphocytes in the blood with a typical phenotype that is positive for CD19, CD20, and surface-membrane immunoglobulin and negative for CD5.
