Quadriparesis

Disease Q feverQuinsy

Quadriparesis - Weakness of all four limbs due to an injured or diseased spinal cord segment
Quadriplegia - Also known as tetraplegia. Loss of function in all four limbs due to an injured or diseased spinal cord segment ...

Quadriparesis most severely involving the distal upper extremities, with or without sensory loss and bladder dysfunction, usually due to ischaemia from osteophytic or traumatic compression of the central part of the cervical spinal cord and/or artery.

Chronic progressive quadriparesis, upper motor neuron signs, preserved cranial nerves, normal jaw jerk
Cervical myelopathy due to spondylosis
Prominent extraocular muscle palsy (possibly only diplopia during extreme gaze) ...

rigidity, weakness, movement disorders, neck stiffness, clumsiness, weak eye muscles, droopy eyelids, spastic quadriparesis, ataxia
Acute Chemical poisoning -- Varnish makers' and painters' Naptha ... weakness, fatigue, ataxia ...

Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is the leading cause of progressive spastic quadriparesis (muscle weakness affecting all four limbs) with loss of sensation below the neck (however, most people with cervical spondylosis have no impairment).

An infantile syndrome characterized by a cat-like cry, failure to thrive, microcephaly, MENTAL RETARDATION, spastic quadriparesis, micro- and retrognathia, glossoptosis, bilateral epicanthus, hypertelorism, and tiny external genitalia.

Other symptoms may include visual impairment, lack of growth, deafness, blindness, spastic quadriparesis (paralysis), and intellectual deficits.

Athetoid Cerebral Palsy
Postnatal Cerebral Palsy
Congenital Cerebral Palsy
Hemiparesis of Cerebral Palsy
Ataxia Cerebral Palsy
Diplegia of Cerebral Palsy
Quadriplegia of Cerebral Palsy
Quadriparesis of Cerebral Palsy ...

This acute myopathy is generalized, may involve ocular and respiratory muscles, and may result in quadriparesis. Elevation of creatinine kinase may occur. Clinical improvement or recovery after stopping corticosteroids may require weeks to years.

Partial loss in all four limbs is called quadriparesis. Below the level of injury, the person will lose:
bowel, bladder, and sexual function
feeling
movement
position sense, or awareness of where the body is ...

delay in the development of mental and motor skills (psychomotor delay), elevated levels of acid in the blood and tissues (metabolic acidosis), abnormal muscle tone (dystonia), and spasms and weakness of the arms and legs (spastic quadriparesis).

Other disease manifestations include seizures, spasticity (stiffness of the arms and legs), quadriparesis, feeding problems, and ataxia (poor coordination). Hydrocephalus may also occur, especially in children with early onset of symptoms.

After several months of life, seizures and hydrocephalus may develop. Other symptoms may include visual impairment, lack of growth, deafness, blindness, spastic quadriparesis (paralysis), and intellectual deficits.
