What is retinopathy of prematurity?
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disorder of the blood vessels of the retina (the light sensitive part of the eye). ROP is most common in premature babies.

Retrolental fibroplasia, also known as retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), is a rare disease in which blood vessels grow abnormally behind the retina. In severe cases, this progresses to scar tissue which can lead to problems with the eye.
