Retrobulbar neuritis
An inflammation of the optic nerve. It causes a loss in vision. It is sometimes indicative of a neurological disease.

Retrobulbar neuritis is a form of optic neuritis in which the optic nerve, which is at the back of the eye, becomes inflamed. The inflamed area is between the back of the eye and the brain.

Optic neuritis, which is also referred to as retrobulbar neuritis, is generally caused by viral or bacterial infections. As its name implies, optic neuritis is an inflammation of the optic nerve.

Optic Neuritis is also known as retrobulbar neuritis. It occurs when the optic nerve at the back of the eye becomes inflamed.

A form of optic neuritis found in the portion of the optic nerve behind the eyeball (retrobulbar neuritis), commonly associated with development of MS, generally resolves on its own.
