Salpingitis
The fallopian tubes extend from the uterus, one on each side, and both open near an ovary. During ovulation, the released egg (ovum) enters a fallopian tube and is swept along by tiny hairs towards the uterus.

Salpingitis is an inflammation of the oviduct. It is a complex condition of chickens and ducks associated with various infections including Mycoplasma and bacteria (especially E. coli and occasionally Salmonella spp.).

Salpingitis is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes, which are long, thin ducts that connect the uterus to the ovaries.

Tuberculosis salpingitis -- is an infection of the uterine fallopian tubes that causes pelvic pain. Examination may reveal the presence of masses in the pelvis, and the patient may report irregular periods. It is not sexually transmitted.

If you develop salpingitis, the lining of the fallopian tubes swells and the already narrow canals become even narrower.
