Shoulder Pain The shoulder is a ball-and-socket joint formed by the head of the humerus (the arm bone) and the glenoid labrum (the name for the socket of the shoulder joint in the scapula).

If shoulder pain fails to improve within 3-5 days
Significant trauma to the shoulder, chest wall, back, or neck can cause severe injuries and should be evaluated in a hospital’s emergency department.
