Telangiectasias may develop anywhere within the body but can be easily seen in the skin, mucous membranes, and whites of the eyes. Usually, they do not cause symptoms. However, some telangiectasias bleed and cause significant problems.

Generalized essential telangiectasia
Generalized essential telangiectasia is the acquisition of large mats of telangiectatic vessels.
These sheets of vessels can occasionally bleed on minor trauma.
Mucous membranes and sclera can be affected.

Ataxia telangiectasia
Ataxia telangiectasia is a neurodegenerative disease that affects many different parts of a person's body and can lead to major disability. It is an inherited disease, but it is very rare.

Ataxia-Telangiectasia
Overview
Ataxia-telangiectasia (AT) (Boder-Sedgwick syndrome or Louis-Bar syndrome) is a rare, neurodegenerative, inherited disease which affects many parts of the body and causes severe disability.

Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T)
There are mutations in some genes that potentially give a small predisposition to develop breast cancer. One example is ataxia telangiectasia (A-T).

Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) is the association of severe combined immunodeficiency (affecting mainly the humoral immune response) with progressive cerebellar ataxia.

Ataxia-telangiectasia is a rare, childhood neurological disorder that causes degeneration in the part of the brain that controls motor movements and speech.

Ataxia-telangiectasia is a rare inherited disorder that affects the nervous system, immune system, and other body systems.

Ataxia-telangiectasia (AT), or Louis-Bar syndrome, is a multisystem disorder serious health implications, the most important being an increased risk for malignancies. It is among the most common causes of unsteadiness (ataxia) in children.

Ataxia-telangiectasia is inherited, which means it is passed down through families. It is an autosomal recessive trait. This means that both parents must provide a defective gene for the child to have symptoms of the disorder.

Ataxia-telangiectasia is transmitted as an autosomal recessive trait. The disease results from mutations in a gene called ATM.

Ataxia-telangiectasia is rare childhood disease that affects the brain and other parts of the body.

Ataxia-telangiectasia results from a T-cell defect and causes progressive cerebellar ataxia, oculocutaneous telangiectasias, and recurrent sinopulmonary infections.

The term telangiectasia refers to a spot formed, usually on the skin, by a dilated capillary or terminal artery. In hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia these spots occur because the blood vessel is fragile and bleeds easily.

Definition of Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia
Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia: Abbreviated HHT.

For parents, getting a diagnosis that their child has ataxia-telangiectasia, is an extraordinarily difficult thing.

A characteristic autopsy feature of ataxia-telangiectasia is the presence of empty basket cells in the cerebellum which results from degeneration of the previously contained Purkinje cells.
Inheritance: autosomal recessive.

Telangiectasia
Telangiectasia are dilated superficial blood vessels. This appearance may occur in rosacea, in certain systemic diseases like ataxia-telangiectasia, scleroderma or in some long-term therapy with topical fluorinated corticosteroids.

Telangiectasias
Las telangiectasias son pequeños racimos de vasos sanguíneos. Por lo general se encuentran en la parte superior del cuerpo, incluso en la cara.

Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans. This type of cutaneous mastocytosis is found mostly in adults. It is characterized by lesions that do not itch and are smaller than those of urticaria pigmentosa.

Telangiectasia. This is a collection of dilated blood vessels on the surface of your skin, usually so closely packed that they appear as solid red marks rather than as individual vessels.

Ataxia telangiectasia
Ataxia telangiectasia (AT) is a rare inherited syndrome caused by a faulty AT gene. The gene is called ATM, which stands for ataxia telangiectasia mutated.

Ataxia-Telangiectasia: This inherited disorder affects many multiple systems in the body, including progressive degeneration of the cerebellum, a part of the brain, the appearance of spider veins, ...

Ataxia-telangiectasia (AT): AT is a disease that first shows up in childhood and becomes worse over time. AT is caused by damage to a part of the brain called the cerebellum that is responsible for movement and balance.

T...Telangiectasias are tiny red areas, frequently on the face, hands, and in the mouth behind the lips. These areas blanch when they are pressed upon and represent widened (dilated) capillaries.

Red lines (telangiectasias) - Facial blushing or flushing causes small blood vessels to expand and eventually to show through the skin. These enlarged blood vessels appear as thin red lines (telangiectasias) on the face, especially on the cheeks.

Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) is a genetic disorder that affects about one in 5,000 people and causes arterial blood to flow directly into the veins, creating weakened ballooned vessels that can rupture.

" Varicose Veins - Usually, varicose veins and telangiectasia (spider veins) are normal veins that have dilated under the influence of increased venous pressure.

These include the genes associated with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, ataxia-telangiectasia, the androgen receptor, Cowden syndrome, Muir-Torre syndrome, and Peutz-Jegher syndrome (Hoskins et al 1995; Szabo et al 1995; Radford et al 1996; Green 1997).

It is the chronic flushing in rosacea which causes the telangiectasia. Flushing can be triggered by many things, the most common being hot drinks, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, sunlight and extreme heat or cold.

Interestingly, even though Ataxia telangiectasia is an autosomal recessive disorder, people who are heterozygotes for this still have an increased risk of developing a lymphoproliferative disorder.[2]
