Temporal arteritis is a condition of inflammation of the arteries. It affects the head, neck, upper body, and arms. The temporal artery is most often affected. It runs over the temple, to the outside of the eye.

Temporal arteritis is inflammation and damage to blood vessels that supply the head area, particularly the large or medium arteries that branch from the neck.

What is Temporal Arteritis?
Temporal Arteritis or Giant Cell Arteritis is so called because it is a chronic inflammation of the large arteries, typically the temporal arteries which are in the temple region at the sides of the forehead.
