URINARY TRACT INFECTION
Infections of the urinary tract are very common in women. They can occur in the bladder and/or the kidney. Sometimes they are just annoying; other times they can be a serious health problem.

Urinary tract infections are treated with antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Pregnant women with urinary tract infections are more likely to get kidney infections and so quick treatment is especially important for these women.

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in the urinary tract. The urinary tract includes the kidneys, the bladder and the urethra. The kidneys are 2 bean-shaped organs that lie against the spine in the lower back.

The urinary tract makes and stores urine. Bacteria, a type of germ that gets into your urinary tract, cause a UTI. This infection can happen in parts of your urinary tract, like your kidneys, bladder, or urethra.
