Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome
The heart works by following a sequence of electrical signals that cause the heart chambers to contract in a certain order.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome
Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is characterised by attacks of rapid heart rate (tachycardia), which is shown in an electrocardiogram (ECG).

What is Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome?
Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is a condition characterized by abnormal electrical pathways in the heart that cause a disruption of the heart's normal rhythm (arrhythmia).

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is a heart condition in which there is an extra electrical pathway (circuit) in the heart. The condition can lead to episodes of rapid heart rate (tachycardia).

CAUSES OF WOLFF-PARKINSON-WHITE SYNDROME
Conduction in WPW - In the normal heart, the atria are electrically isolated as they are separated by fibrous atrioventricular rings.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome - An extra electrical pathway that connects the atria and ventricles and causes rapid heartbeat.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome: One cause of SVT is known as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. This arrhythmia is caused by an extra electrical pathway between the atria and the ventricles.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) is a disorder of the heart’s electrical activity. It causes the heart to beat with an irregular rhythm and faster than normal. This is called tachyarrhythmia.
Causes ...

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is a condition in which abnormal electrical pathways in the heart cause arrhythmias. Symptoms of Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome include tachycardia, dizziness, palpitations, fainting, and shortness of breath.

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome - A condition in which an extra electrical pathway connects the atria (two upper chambers) and the ventricles (two lower chambers). It may cause a rapid heartbeat.

Definition Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is an abnormality in the electrical functioning of the heart which may cause rapid heart rates. The abnormality affects the electrical signal between the atria and ventricles.

An unusual but important cause of some arrhythmias causing palpitations is Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. An ultrasound recording (echocardiogram) may be done to look for evidence of mitral valve prolapse.
