Aidi Dog Description
The Aidi is trim and muscular. It has a heavy plumed tail and medium-sized ears that are tipped forward. The Aidi has a tapered muzzle with a dark or brown nose that usually fixtures the coat.

The breed is said to have come from Morocco where they was used to keep the home and owners safe from wild game. The medium-sized, energetic dog stands at 21 to 24 inches and weigh 50 to 55 pounds.

Description: The Aidi or Chien de l'Atlas is a very rare Moroccan dog breed who is said to be closely related to European mountain dogs.

Aidi - A dog that was bred in Morocco to herd sheep and goats, this dog weighs about 55 pounds.
Akbash - Originally bred in Turkey, this livestock guard dog can reach 140 pounds.

The breed is referred to as "Aidi n'Ailluli ," meaning "Noble Dogs of the Free People." The Azawakh is considered a full member of the family, entrusted with protecting the encampment and flocks from invaders.

It is thought that they were brought to Venezuela by the Spanish forces and their ancestors include the Spanish Mastiff, Mastín of the Pyrenees and the Algerian Mastiff, like also the Sheepdog of the Atlas or Aidi and the Pyrenean.
