The breed originated in Greece during the proto-Hellenic era (2800-200 BC) where the breed occurred by natural selection in the Greek streets but are now carefully bred today.

 


Alopekis Care
The forelegs are straight, with good but not heavy oval bone, strong wrists and elastic pasterns, which are set slightly oblique to the vertical with no dropping off as well much.

The Alopekis is a stout breed of dog with fox-like facial features and an intelligent expression. His wedge-shaped head is broad and features a pair of large, pricked ears that are triangular in shape.
