Bavarian Mountain Hound

The breed originated in the mid to late 19th century in the Bavarian and Württemberg regions of Germany.
He was developed in the Bavarian region of Germany around the turn of the 20th century as a hunter of wild boar, fox, badger and weasel. He is descended from older terrier breeds like the Fox Terrier and the Tan Wire Terrier.
The giant schnauzer, largest and most recent of the three Schnauzer breeds, was developed by Bavarian cattlemen who wanted a cattle dog like the standard schnauzer but larger.
Many other hound breeds like the American Coonhounds, Swiss Jura Hounds, Brazilian Fila Brasileiro, and Bavarian Mountain Hound trace their ancestory back to the Bloodhound. During the Middle Ages, the Bloodhound existed in a wide variety of colors.
It is generally accepted that today’s Boxer is a mix of Danziger and Brabanter Bullenbeissers with other Bavarian and foreign breeds.
