Origin
The Russian Black Terrier is a very young breed which was created during the mid-20th century by the state-controlled Red Star kennels in Russia to serve the needs of the Soviet military.

Male Black Terriers are bigger and more massive than bitches; the male stands 25-29 inches (64-74 cm) at the withers compared to the bitch's 25-28 inches (64-72 cm) with a tolerance of 1.3 inches (3 cm) or more if the dog is well proportioned.

(Chornyi, Terrier Noir Russe, Russian Bear Schnauzer, Black Terrier, Tchiorny Terrier) The Black Russian Terrier is a rare Russian breed that has an above average-sized body and a robust, hardy build. They are large, powerful, and sturdy.

These resulting crosses were entirely black in color, and they were differentiated from the other cross-breeds and called the "black terrier" group. The best of these specimens were bred among themselves.

The breed first appeared during the 1700s as different types of dog, the rough coated black terrier and the smooth coated black terrier, where the dog was bred and specialized for the work that was needed.

OLD ENGLISH TERRIER has other names like Welsh Terriers and Black terrier. The black terrier had rough coating while the other type was having a smooth coat. The breed is typically an English breed. Very brutal and barks on high notes.

The Black Russian Terrier is also called the Black Terrier, Tchiorny Terrier, Chornyi, Russian Bear Schnauzer, and Black Russian Terrier. It is a bit of a rarity outside Russia.

The Airedale is an elegant tan and black terrier possessing a natural proud attitude and poise. They are active and need regular exercise and challenge. They may at times appear reserved, but they are not shy.

They all had dark black coats and were considered the 'Black Terrier' group. They were then bred within their group and by 1957, there were second and third generation dogs that were presented.

This breed can be traced back to the sixteenth century, and it is descendent from the black terriers of that period.

They were all black, and were distinguished from the others as the "Black Terrier" group.

All the successful resultant crosses were black and could be differentiated from other breeds as the Black Terrier group.
